This course has been designed by Dyslexia Ireland as a response to discussions and interactions with educators and individuals with dyslexia.
This course will provide an overview of what dyslexia is and how it impacts students and their learning. There will be a focus on practical strategies to support learners with dyslexia in education.
The course will be delivered live online via Zoom, over two days (8th April and 15th April), with each session lasting two hours (2pm to 4pm). The presentations and supporting documents will be provided to all participants before the course to enhance their learning experience.
This course will be of particular benefit to teaching and learning professionals, disability support staff, senior leadership, and anyone working on improving accessibility and inclusion initiatives.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop an understanding of what dyslexia is
- Understand best practices for inclusion
- Understand practical support strategies for individual students
- Consider the impact of dyslexia on mental health and well-being
