Dyslexia is a learning difference that can cause difficulties with learning and work. It affects approximately 1 in 10 and occurs on a spectrum, with some people mildly affected and others more severely. However, with the right understanding and support, dyslexic individuals can manage their challenges, leverage their unique strengths and thrive in the workplace.
This 2-hour session is designed to equip HR professionals with practical tools to support dyslexic employees and cultivate a culture that understands and embraces diversity.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop a deeper understanding of dyslexia and how it affects employees in the workplace
- Learn how to meet legal obligations and effectively support the disclosure of dyslexia
- Gain an overview of accessible and inclusive HR practices that can be embedded into company culture, recruitment and training
This session is delivered online via Zoom, and is hosted by Nicola Beagan and Caoimhe O’Malley from Dyslexia Ireland.
This training is offered as a collaboration between Dyslexia Ireland and Specialisterne Ireland, with funding from the ESF+ and the Department of Social Protection’s WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme.
