This two-hour session is for employment service professionals looking to gain practical tools to support dyslexic job candidates/employees.

Dyslexia is a learning difference that can cause difficulties with learning and work. It affects approximately 1 in 10. It occurs on a spectrum with some people mildly affected and others more severely. However, with the right understanding and support, dyslexic individuals can manage their challenges, leverage their unique strengths and thrive in the workplace.

This 2-hour session is for Employment Service Professionals (e.g. Employment Guidance Officers, Job Coaches etc.) looking to gain practical tools to support dyslexic job candidates/employees.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop a deeper understanding of dyslexia and how it affects job candidates/employees
  • Learn effective strategies to support job candidates/employees in confidently disclosing dyslexia and advocating for their workplace needs
  • Identify and recommend practical accommodations and inclusive practices that can be integrated into company culture, recruitment and training

This session is NOT capped and is delivered live online via Zoom.

Delivered by: Nicola Beagan, Adult Dyslexia Coordinator at Dyslexia Ireland, and Caoimhe O’Malley, Senior Adult Dyslexia Coordinator at Dyslexia Ireland
